Nivedita Ranade brings 13+ years of professional experience in facilitating, building, and evaluating grants and programs in collaboration with social-justice-oriented national and international change makers (non-profits, philanthropies, educational institutions, and local, state, and federal governments).
At CM, she serves as the Associate Project Director of Expanding the Bench (ETB) and leads the ETB Regional and ACE Evaluation Network work within ETB. She also works as the Senior Evaluator on two evaluation projects, namely Transforming Academia for Equity (TAE) and Systems Alignment Innovation Hub (SAIH). She leads with an equity-centered approach to learning and evaluation—recognizing that people, culture, and context matter, and that power and positionality must be named and navigated to create just outcomes for communities who have been historically marginalized or excluded. She enjoys being a builder, a connector, and a storyteller in her everyday work – bringing people and ideas together to drive meaningful change.
Originally from Mumbai, India, Nivedita currently resides in the Atlanta, GA area. In her free time, she enjoys exploring nature, cultures, cuisines, and art through travel. She also loves everything home design and is a fan of the timeless mid-century modern aesthetic. Service, giving back to her community, and preserving her cultural roots are important values for her. On the weekend, you will find her volunteering with a local non-profit, Green Cell Atlanta, to raise awareness of human-created environmental issues, or promoting children’s cultural and spiritual development at Chinmaya Mission through fun, creative activities and acts of service, or planning and coordinating various fundraising events at her son’s elementary school.
Nivedita holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a master’s degree in Human Development from the University of Mumbai. She came to the U.S. to obtain her doctorate in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Connecticut.
