Systems Alignment for Innovation Hub (SAIH)

What is it?

The Systems Alignment for Innovation Hub (SAIH) is a multi-year initiative funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) that seeks to reimagine how systems can work together to advance equity and improve health outcomes. SAIH brings together community leaders, funders, and system actors to explore how collaboration, learning, and innovation can address deep-rooted structural barriers that perpetuate health inequities.

What Change Matrix does

Change Matrix leads the initiative’s learning and evaluation strategy, supporting partners in reflecting on how systems align, learn, and adapt over time. Our work includes co-creating frameworks and tools that center holistic consideration and relationship-building; designing reflective learning spaces that foster shared understanding and accountability; and synthesizing insights that lift the perspectives of those most impacted by fragmented systems.

We also help partners connect across local and national levels, bridging learning across communities and initiatives, to inform RWJF’s broader approach to systems change.

Why we love this work

This work reflects our belief that systems change begins with people and relationships. SAIH allows us to witness and document what happens when community voices are positioned as drivers of innovation, and when funders and institutions commit to learning alongside them. This work reminds us that lasting transformation requires reflection, trust, and co-creation—and that holistic consideration is both the process and the goal.
