What is it?
Starting as technical assistance providers for SAMHSA funded grants including Project AWARE and Healthy Transitions, CM emphasized leadership as a lever of systems change to integrate mental health in schools and support young adults as they transition from the pediatric to the adult mental health system. From there, CM provided leadership academies for state leaders across agencies, developing shared language and a common approach to leading complex change. These academies included leaders from Department of Health Services and Office of Public Instruction and were offered over a year. CM continues to support adaptive leadership throughout Wisconsin in divisions and practice areas such as wraparound.

We believe that everyone is a leader. That change is most effective and sustainable when a diverse group of leaders can identify shifts in the environment, where beliefs and practices need to adapt, and the conversations to define action are held to learn the way to solutions. Leading is most effective throughout a system when individuals are familiar with an adaptive approach and build trust through commonly held principles.
