Right now, the mental health of children and youth requires enduring focus and support in systems and communities across the country, including tribes and territories.  To contribute to that effort, Change Matrix is excited to partner with the Center for Applied Research Solutions (CARS), Georgetown University Center for Child and Human Development (GUCCHD), Youth MOVE, Family Run Executive Director Leadership Association (FREDLA), the University of Texas at Austin and other on the National Training & Technical Assistance Center (NTTAC) to support the mental health for children, youth and their families.  This Center is currently in start-up phase with so much to look forward to!

CM staff, including Rachele Espiritu, Tonicia Freeman-Foster, Kaitlin Ferrick, and Evelyn Clark will ensure a lens of equity is applied to all training and technical assistance efforts throughout the center that serves children and youth from birth through transition to adulthood.  Elizabeth Waetzig will serve as Field Director for the new center.

NTTAC will advance a trauma-informed, person-centered approach to mental health that helps all children, youth, and young adults with SED/SMI receive evidence-based treatment and recovery services within a coordinated system of care. Nationally, the NTTAC Team will provide innovative, flexible, and responsive training and technical assistance (TTA) that supports systems- level change and advancement of evidence-based practice.

NTTAC is organized into six topical Transformation Teams. Transformation Teams will develop progressive, multimodal TTA within their content area and collaborate across teams to leverage collective expertise and provide TTA that integrates the topics. Each Transformation Team includes a Content Lead as well as a mix of clinicians, medical advisors, researchers, and TTA specialists.

The NTTAC is committed to systems of care principles of youth-guided, family-driven services that are collaborative; are community-based; and that address health disparities and promote health equity and racial justice. Each Transformation Team includes youth and family engagement experts and experts in cultural and linguistic competence (CLC), disparities, and equity.
