We are excited to welcome the newest member of our Change Matrix team, Dr. Tonicia Freeman-Foster!
Tonicia was born in South Florida, and has lived in Florida all of her life. She currently resides in the Tampa Bay area with her husband. She is very passionate about the health and well-being of all individuals and developing opportunities to advance diversity, equity, inclusion and justice. Prior to coming to Change Matrix, Tonicia served as the Project Director for the Florida Healthy Transitions program. In this role, she worked alongside her team to develop and enhance a peer-to-peer behavioral health movement for transition aged youth and young adults, in which youth and young adult voices guided all aspects of the program. Tonicia also developed and served as the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Coordinator for her organization’s staff and Board level activities.
She received her doctorate’s degree in Education with a concentration in Organizational Leadership from Argosy University. She also has a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science Education, with a concentration in Community Health from the University of Florida, as well as a Master’s degree in Human Services with a concentration in Organizational Management and Leadership from Springfield College. Outside of her professional endeavors, Tonicia enjoys traveling, celebrating diverse cultures, learning new things, volunteering, playing word and trivia games.
