The Denver Department of Public Health & Environment (DDPHE) is continuing to provide healthy food access during the COVID-19 pandemic through the Healthy Food for Denver’s Kids (HFDK) program. DDPHE is pleased to announce the second HFDK Request for Proposal (RFP) to support access to healthy food and food-based education for Denver’s youth. Applications are due April 26, 2021, by 11 pm MT.

Applications are currently being accepted from nonprofit organizations, individual schools (including the Denver Public Schools district), and City agencies that support Denver youth in the following program priority areas:

  • Nutritious food access and nutrition/food education
  • Ages 5 and under and early childhood education
  • Participation in federal and/or state nutrition assistance programs
  • Partnerships and collaboration
  • Local food procurement

Q+A Information Session

To learn more about the funding opportunity and grant writing tips, HFDK is also offering a Q+A information session on March 30, 2021, from 12:30-2:30 pm MT. Spanish language interpretation will be provided, and participants are encouraged to register in advance for this session at this link.
