On Wednesday, July 14, The National Training & Technical Assistance Center for Child, Youth, & Family Mental Health (NTTAC), will sponsor a webinar called The Power of Peer Support in the Juvenile Justice System: From Incarceration to Inspiration. Among the featured facilitators is Evelyn Clark of Change Matrix (CM), whose lived experience gives her unique insight into the webinar’s content.

“I am very excited for the upcoming presentation on juvenile justice (JJ) and peer support. This is one of my passions as I was a young person in the JJ system and then went on to work with young people and their families in the JJ system,” Evelyn said. “One of my visions, when I started working in direct services, was to empower the young people and their families to do this work — and you will see that transpire on July 14!”

Attendees will learn about the mental health needs of many of the youth in the JJ system and how stigma impacts their ability to receive adequate care and support. Presenting alongside Evelyn will by Tyus Reed, a Youth Peer Support, and Lynn Ausley, a Family Peer Support.
