As a female-owned and operated small business, Change Matrix (CM) holds the month of March especially dear as it marks Women’s History Month. With roots in the suffragist movement of the early 20th century, the celebration used to be a single observation of National Women’s Day, which this year was celebrated on March 8. The month-long observance that we are familiar with in 2022 began in 1987 when Congress officially recognized the month. Since then, the United States has made a point of celebrating all the sacrifices and contributions of women throughout our country and the world.
This year, CM is sharing five ways to celebrate the achievements of women in all aspects of one’s life throughout the month of March and beyond.
- Donate
One of the best ways to acknowledge the ongoing achievements of women is to support charitable organizations that benefit the well-being of women and girls around the world. Here are three organizations doing their part to create a more equitable world:- Girls Not Brides
This organization works to prevent child marriage, amplify the voices of young girls at risk for child marriage, facilitates learning around this topic, and more! - Global Fund for Women
The Fund supports gender justice work to create lasting women’s rights initiatives like sexual rights and health, and freedom from violence. - Women for Women International
This organization invests in women survivors of war and conflict by providing useful social and economic skills to create stability in their lives.

- Attend an Event
There are thousands of events going on this month to honor women both locally and on an international scale. One exciting and historical event is the posthumous presentation of the “Great Americans” medal to the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg happening on March 30. Register for this free event at this link. - Read Up on History
With so much content by so many fantastic women’s authors, it can be hard to choose which books to pick up to learn more about the female experience around the world. Here are four reading lists to help get you started: - Follow a Female Activist on Social Media
Social media often gets a bad rap for being an exclusive source of vapid entertainment, however, it can also be a great place for grassroots organizers and activists to spread information about equitable causes. Here’s a list of some female activists to get you started on your social media search. - Support a Women-Owned Business
You can also observe Women’s History Month this March by celebrating women business owners. Try this and this list to learn more about female entrepreneurs and their products.
