Susan Ghanbarpour, DrPH, MA (she/her) is a researcher and evaluator focusing on community-led and participatory methodologies, who serves as the project director on the Expanding the Bench® (ETB) Initiative. Susan has expertise in culturally responsive and equitable evaluation (CREE), as well as qualitative and mixed-methods research, and co-authored the Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) Toolkit for Domestic Violence Researchers. Her skills include strengths-based capacity building, language justice and disability justice practices, and anti-racist and trauma-informed approaches informed by research justice principles. Throughout her career, Susan has worked to center the voices of marginalized communities — including communities of color, immigrants, and survivors of gender-based violence — so that they can tell the stories that are meaningful to them. Susan received her DrPH from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, MA in health policy from New York University, and AB in chemistry from Cornell University.
