Nancy (she/her) is a first-generation Hmong American woman. As a daughter of Hmong immigrants who fled from the Secret War in Laos, she is passionate about advancing equity for individuals and communities to live safe, healthy, and successful lives. She completed a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Anthropology with concentrations in Education and Asian Studies from St. Olaf College, and a Master of Education in Organizational Leadership, Policy, & Development from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Nancy brings years of experience working with youth and families in K-12 and higher education focusing on engagement, retention, leadership, education abroad, and college access. She designed and led programs that fostered community and identity development for students to be successful in their education careers and beyond. In her passion for social justice, she worked in politics serving as Communications Director for a St. Paul City Council campaign that elected its youngest and first Hmong woman. She believes that together, people power can create change. Nancy lives in Denver, CO with her fiancé and her growing collection of houseplants. She enjoys hiking, cooking, gardening, photography, and gaming.
